Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Personal Support Worker for Blenheim Village Home in Blenheim, ON. You’ll provide direct care to residents in line with policies and routines, supporting mobility, grooming, feeding and personal care.

You’ll work as part of a team, encourage participation in activities, and offer emotional and social support to residents and families. Bending, lifting and other physical tasks are required; English communication is essential.

Qualifications

• PSW certification required.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, reaching and lifting.
• Excellent reading, writing and spoken English.
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check and be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

This position is for our Blenheim Village Home, located in Blenheim, ON.

What you’ll be doing

• Assist residents with mobility, feeding, bathing, toileting and personal grooming

What you bring

• PSW certification
• Able to perform physical tasks and duties, including frequent bending, reaching and lifting
• Compassion, professionalism, and respect
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Must provide a complete and current (within three months) Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.
