Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Part-time PSW/HCA/CCA to provide direct personal support and care to residents in our long-term care setting. Responsibilities include ambulation, feeding, bathing and grooming, with adherence to policies and care plans.

Access to a reliable vehicle in community home care is required and union considerations may apply. The role supports residents across physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs, working within a compassionate, mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Completed a PSW Program or HCA/CCA certification that meets the appropriate standards as required for the position
• Experience in Long Term Care or community home care setting with exposure to dementia and palliative care is preferred
• Knowledge and experience in care planning systems and documentation
• Ability to communicate positively with other staff, residents/patients and families
• Ability to provide care in accordance with application legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, ability to read and write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English
• Experience working independently in Community Home Care is an asset
