ABOUT THE POSITION

Anchor Home is seeking a Personal Support Staff to provide care and support for an individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home‑based setting. This role is especially well‑suited for a nursing student looking to gain meaningful, hands‑on experience in direct care and community‑based services.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the Delegating Nurse in prioritizing and responding to client needs according to the Plan of Care.
• Follow the individualized Plan of Care as written by the Delegating Nurse.
• Support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, hygiene, dressing, meal support, and grooming.
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance as needed.
• Assist with daily routines, light housekeeping, and maintaining a safe home environment.
• Document care provided and client responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate and actively listen to client needs and concerns while promoting dignity and independence.
• Maintain client safety, comfort, and overall well‑being.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Current undergraduate student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Minimum of 1+ year of documented experience in caregiving for vulnerable adult populations
• Experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Current CMT certification preferred
