Umialik Insurance, a member of the Western National Insurance Group, seeks a Personal Lines Underwriting Intern to join our Anchorage team. You will assist the Underwriting group with rating, coverage, and renewal-related projects while gaining hands-on insurance industry experience.

Qualifications

• Completed two years of college preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to follow established processes and procedures.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Intermediate experience with Word and Excel.
• Ability to work onsite at our corporate office in Anchorage, AK.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain accurate rating and coverage on Personal Lines policies.
• Partner with underwriting and other departments to modify renewal business as needed.
• Assess replacement cost value for property business.
• Review property inspections and recommend appropriate actions.
• Update policy information as new details emerge.
• Communicate with agency force regarding changes or requests for information.
