Job summary

Jencap in Red Bank, NJ seeks a Personal Lines Underwriting Assistant to provide technical underwriting support for assigned accounts and assist in making underwriting decisions on referred accounts.

This role collaborates with agents, brokers, and internal teams, processes applications, endorsements, and cancellations, and uses the ImageRight system to enter data and run loss information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of related underwriting experience.
• Recommend pursuing entry level insurance-related courses to advance within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with agents, brokers, underwriters and staff to obtain information, quote rates, present proposals and service accounts.
• Assist marketing and internal teams with problems and developing new marketing strategies.
• Respond to broker, client and team questions promptly and accurately.
• Meet regularly with broker/underwriting teams on strategy and follow-up.
• Rate policies and endorsements and review for proper rating using rating manuals.
• Prepare information for new or renewal policies, including loss runs and system data.
• Prepare quotations and proposals and assist underwriters with broker questions.
• Enter/research information in the ImageRight system per workflow procedures.
• Request additional information from brokers for applications, endorsements, and cancellations and follow up as needed.
• Assist underwriters with broker requests and preliminary evaluations of loss experience.
