Job summary

Jencap, a leading wholesale insurance intermediary, seeks an Associate Underwriter to review and price new and renewal applications, endorsements, and related documents within authority. This in-office role is based in Red Bank, NJ.

You will support underwriters and agents, build agent relationships, quote rates, and ensure timely servicing of accounts, with 2–5 years of industry experience and a Bachelor's degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of similar related job experience in the insurance industry.
• Functional knowledge of product offerings, insurance concepts, practices and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and drive for customer excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop the ability to perform risk selection and analysis by examining and evaluating documents to determine risk, underwriting and market selection.
• Build relationships with agents through in-house placement of new business.
• Effectively communicate with agent or broker clients, company underwriters, internal staff and management to obtain additional information and quote rates.
• Connect with carrier underwriters to assist in learning coverage, guidelines, and technology.
• Maintain renewal book of business/premium as required.
• Address assigned workload within quality, productivity and service standards as established by guidelines.
