Job summary

Burns & Wilcox in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Personal Lines Underwriter to grow a book of business with an entrepreneurial spirit. You will build client relationships, rate and quote risks, and lead underwriting referrals within a supportive, private-equity-free environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience required, excess & surplus experience preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in sales and marketing.
• Insurance license, CPCU, CIC or comparable designations preferred.
• Travel if necessary in order to foster strong client relationships.
