SWBC is seeking a customer service professional for Personal lines insurance, evaluating, classifying, and quoting policies with carriers and brokers. You will provide information, rates, and quotes, and prepare endorsements and certificates according to underwriting guidelines.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a valid General Insurance license, at least one year of personal lines experience, strong PC skills, and excellent communication.
SWBC is seeking a talented individual to provide customer service for the Personal lines of insurance in evaluating, classifying, and quoting policies by working with various insurance carriers and/or brokers. Essential duties include the following: Provides information, rates, and quotes for all new and renewal Personal lines policies by evaluating, processing, and placing coverage based on the degree of risk indicated on the applications and within the underwriting guidelines provided by various carriers and/or brokers. Reviews renewal requests and endorsements for accuracy and adherence to underwriting guidelines for various carriers and/or brokers in preparing policies, endorsements, binders and certificates. Maintains complete, accurate, and thorough files on every customer account by processing daily mail and telephone requests for assigned accounts to include entering and scanning all required account data into the system. Assists and provides training to other Customer Service Representatives as requested. Maintains a level of up-to-date knowledge on the rating system, forms and coverage changes.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency. Possess a General Insurance license. Minimum of one (1) year of personal lines insurance experience. Working knowledge of insurance forms, coverage and rating. Strong working knowledge of PC’s and related applications. Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills. Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Able to type a minimum of 45 wpm accurately, operate a calculator and have a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Able to work under sometimes stressful conditions, while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm. Able to sit for long periods of time updating, and validating insurance policies. Able to lift and/or push 10-20 lbs. of files, insurance manuals, or boxes. Able to travel locally and nationally.
