Job summary

Leavitt Group Northwest's Homer Insurance Center in Homer, Alaska is seeking a Personal Lines Agent for a busy office. You will support customers and sales staff on Personal Lines, quote new business, maintain accounts, cross-sell, and forward submission packages to carriers.

Responsibilities include discussing coverage, requesting changes, and generating documents. Licenses and strong sales/communication skills are essential; AMS 360 knowledge is a plus.

Job description

Homer Insurance Center, an office of Leavitt Group Northwest, is looking for a Personal Lines Agent for their busy office in Homer, Alaska.

This position will provide support to the customer and internal sales staff on all Personal Lines Insurance business. Sales support will consist of developing new accounts, quoting new business coverage, maintaining existing accounts, cross-selling existing accounts, and forwarding submission packages to the appropriate carrier. Customer service will consist of discussing coverage, recommending coverage, requesting, and making policy changes, verifying account information, answering customers' questions, and generating the appropriate documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately maintain all customer information in the computer system (AMS360).
• Speaking with customers and company personnel on the phone or in person during office visits and responding to all written correspondence.
• Answering coverage questions, recommending coverage, processing policy change information, taking claim information, collecting premiums, submitting the proper documents to the company, and verifying that documents received from company are correct.
• Issuing the proper insurance verification documents to the insured (auto id, certificates, etc.).

• Retain renewal business by contacting insureds to review coverage.
• Review current underwriting information in order to qualify customers for improved programs and monitor renewal premiums for excessive increases.
• Develop existing accounts by attempting to provide additional coverage on existing policies or adding additional lines of business (cross-sell).
• Assist with the development of recommended coverage for customers.
