Job summary

MSIG USA, the US subsidiary of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, is seeking an Account Representative with bilingual English/Japanese capabilities to interpret policy information and provide coverage consultation. The role involves risk management support, claims coordination, and handling agent and insured inquiries in a hybrid in-office setting.

The ideal candidate has 3 years of insurance experience, a Property & Casualty license, and strong communication skills in both English and Japanese.

Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Japanese communication skills are required.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of insurance experience; P&C license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide English and/or Japanese interpretation for policy requests and inquiries from agents and insureds.
• Offer coverage consultation, risk management, and assist in service issue resolutions.
• Enter activities in the Applied Agency system and manage daily tasks with deadlines.
• Handle inquiries via phone, fax, and email for quotations, policy changes, and cancellations.

Leveraging our 350-year heritage, MSIG USA brings the financial strength, expertise, and global footprint to offer commercial insurance solutions that address your business’s unique risks.Summary/Job Purpose:The Account Representative is responsible to provide English and/or Japanese interpretation on policy requests and inquiries from agents and Japanese insured and offer coverage consultation, risk management and assist in resolution of service issues.WORKING HOURS: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.IN OFFICE REQUIREMENT: 5 days in the office until training is complete (approx 6 months) then 4 days in the office.Essential Functions:Develops a working knowledge of personal lines auto, homeowners, fire, and excess liability and boat coverages for all states and multiple carriers.Develops a working knowledge of all entry and rating procedures and requirements for above coverages.Enters all activities within the Applied Agency system and completes daily activates within required deadline.Receives claims for insureds who need Japanese interpretation. Forwards information to claims handling offices. Follows-up where necessary.Answers incoming phone calls, faxes and email inquiries from customers/agents for quotations, policy changes, and cancellations.
