Job summary

Shepherd Insurance in Indiana is seeking a Personal Lines Account Manager to support insurance advisors with new and renewal personal lines business and servicing client accounts. You will provide positive, prompt service, assist with marketing, evaluate premiums, prepare proposals, and help cross-sell while maintaining carrier information and underwriting details.

Required: high school diploma or GED, state licensing; two years of related experience preferred; college degree a plus; proficiency

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience in a similar position is desirable.
• Required state licensing certification.
• Strong understanding of personal lines insurance coverages, forms, procedures, and policy rating systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and agency management system.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive, prompt, and accurate service to clients.
• Assist in marketing new and renewal business. Evaluate premiums, prepare proposals, presentation packets and maintain underwriting and marketing information by carrier.
• Assist advisors with cross-selling and account rounding.
• Receive calls from clients and companies regarding policy coverage, claims, or administrative needs and refer to the advisor when necessary.
• Maintain a suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and overdue items.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
