• At least five years of experience working in personal injury pre-litigation.
• Previous experience leading or supervising case managers is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury case management, medical treatment, insurance claims, demands, and settlement procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research or case-management platforms.
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of up to five pre-litigation case managers.
• Oversee a pod portfolio of personal injury matters from case inception through settlement.
• Conduct regular file reviews and provide direction on case strategy, medical treatment, deadlines, and next steps.
• Review newly assigned cases for issues, parties, statutes of limitation, government entities, insurance, damages, and claims.
• Complete introductory calls with new clients within one week of assignment.
• Guide case managers in coordinating and monitoring clients’ medical treatment.
• Review medical records, reports, diagnoses, and treatment needs.
• Identify when a case is ready for demand and determine additional investigation needed.
• Review, edit, and approve settlement demands before submission.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and communicate recommendations to clients.
• Review settlement releases to ensure appropriate parties and claims are addressed.
• Monitor policy-limit demands, disclosures, asset searches, and open-policy considerations.
• Review settlement breakdowns, provider balances, liens, and related documentation for accuracy.
• Assist with client concerns and resolve issues delaying treatment or settlement.
• Collaborate with medical records coordinators, lien negotiators, intake, attorneys, and other Firm members.
• Ensure cases are properly documented and managed per Firm procedures.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

This position is ideal for a knowledgeable personal injury professional who is comfortable supervising staff, directing medical case management, reviewing demands, negotiating settlements, and providing clients with attentive and compassionate service.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and support a team of up to five pre-litigation case managers.
• Oversee a pod portfolio of personal injury matters from case inception through settlement.
• Conduct regular file reviews and provide clear direction regarding case strategy, medical treatment, deadlines, and next steps.
• Review every newly assigned case to identify potential issues, responsible parties, applicable statutes of limitation, government entities, insurance coverage, damages, and additional claims.
• Complete introductory calls with new clients within one week of case assignment.
• Guide case managers in coordinating and monitoring clients’ medical treatment.
• Review medical records, reports, recommendations, diagnoses, and outstanding treatment needs.
• Identify when a case is ready for demand and determine whether additional medical treatment or investigation is required.
• Review, edit, and approve settlement demands before submission.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance adjusters and communicate settlement recommendations to clients.
• Carefully review settlement releases to ensure the appropriate parties and claims are addressed.
• Monitor policy-limit demands, insurance disclosures, declarations of no additional insurance, asset searches, and potential open-policy considerations.
• Review settlement breakdowns, medical-provider balances, liens, and related documentation for accuracy.
• Assist with client concerns and resolve issues that could delay treatment or settlement.
• Collaborate with medical records coordinators, lien negotiators, the Intake Department, attorneys, and other members of the Firm.
• Ensure cases are properly documented and managed in accordance with Firm procedures.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least five years of experience working in personal injury pre-litigation.
• Previous experience leading, training, or supervising case managers strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of personal injury case management, medical treatment, insurance claims, demands, and settlement procedures.
• Familiarity with government-claim deadlines and statutes of limitation.
• Knowledge of uninsured and underinsured motorist claims.
• Familiarity with workers’ compensation crossover matters.
• Working knowledge of health insurance and lien issues involving Medi-Cal, Medicare, Kaiser, and other providers.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong judgment and the ability to identify potential case issues early.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and a high-volume caseload in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research or case-management platforms.
• Professional fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
