Job summary

Breyer Law Offices P C is seeking a skilled Litigation Paralegal to support a busy personal injury litigation team in Phoenix. You will handle caseloads from filing through resolution, keeping calendars, filing pleadings, and coordinating discovery and depositions to keep matters moving toward resolution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of personal injury litigation paralegal experience.
• Demonstrated experience managing cases that have entered litigation.
• Experience preparing cases for depositions, mediations, arbitrations, or trial.
• Strong knowledge of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation deadlines.
• Exceptional organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate client service approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage a personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution.

• Draft, format, and file pleadings, motions, notices, and discovery documents.
• Coordinate and track written discovery, including interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admission.
• Schedule and assist with depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and hearings.
• Prepare attorneys and clients for depositions and court appearances.
• Organize medical records, billing records, expert materials, and exhibits.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress and expectations.
• Work collaboratively with attorneys, investigators, experts, medical providers, and opposing counsel.
• Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and trial binders.

About the Role:

Our litigation team handles complex personal injury matters, including catastrophic injuries, wrongful death cases, trucking accidents, and other high-exposure claims. As a Litigation Paralegal, you'll work closely with attorneys to move cases through the litigation process from filing through resolution.

This role requires prior experience supporting personal injury litigation cases that have proceeded into active litigation. You should be comfortable managing court deadlines, coordinating discovery, preparing for depositions, supporting mediations, and assisting with trial preparation.

You’ll also join a team of highly engaged legal support professionals who provide extensive support with opening cases, records and bills requests, liens, settlements, and disbursements, allowing you to focus on litigation strategy and client advocacy.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of personal injury litigation paralegal experience

Things You've Done in the Past

• Managed litigation deadlines and court calendars without missing critical dates
• Filed pleadings and litigation documents in state and federal courts
• Coordinated depositions, mediations, and expert witness schedules
• Drafted and responded to discovery requests and discovery-related correspondence
• Organized thousands of pages of medical records and supporting documents for litigation
• Assisted attorneys with trial preparation, exhibits, witness files, and trial notebooks
• Prepared settlement demand packages and litigation summaries
• Worked directly with clients throughout the litigation process while providing excellent customer service
• Maintained detailed case notes and documentation in case management software
• Protected confidential client information and ensured compliance with all ethical and legal requirements

Preferred Experience

• Arizona personal injury litigation experience
• Experience handling catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases
• Experience working with expert witnesses, accident reconstructionists, and medical experts
• Experience supporting cases through mediation, arbitration, jury trial, or settlement conference
