Job summary

Qualifications

• Supports multiple attorneys in a litigation practice.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.
• Experience with e-filing in federal, state and local courts is preferred.
• Proven ability to prepare legal documents in proper format.

Responsibilities

The law firm Maier Gutierrez & Associates is currently looking for a litigation paralegal with a focus in personal injury law. The ideal candidate will support multiple attorneys and provide outstanding service to our clients.

Responsibilities will include:

• Manage case deadlines
• Prepare legal documents such as complaints, answers, discovery documents and motions, as well as mediation and arbitration briefs
• Daily client contact and communication
• Communicating with courts and opposing counsel as needed
• Ensure all necessary documentation for a trials and evidentiary hearings are obtained and organized

Preferred knowledge:

• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook
• Prior experience with case management software such as Smart Advocate or similar
• Experience with e-filing in all federal, state and local courts
• Prepare, compose and assemble documentation into proper legal format

Preferred skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Work well independently as well as with a team
• Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Time management in a deadline driven environment
• Strong analytical skills

Compensation is competitive and depends on experience.
