Job description

Salary: $50,000–$65,000 annually, based on experience

Are you a bodily injury adjuster ready to apply your claims evaluation and negotiation experience on the plaintiff side?

The Phoenix Trial Firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Case Manager to manage pre-litigation bodily injury matters. Current and former insurance-company bodily injury adjusters are strongly encouraged to apply, as are experienced plaintiff-side personal injury case managers.

This is not a medical-records retrieval or property-damage position. Our support team handles requesting, collecting, and organizing medical records and bills. You will focus on case evaluation, client relationships, treatment monitoring, adjuster communications, negotiations under attorney direction, and moving cases toward resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned caseload of pre-litigation personal injury matters.
  • Evaluate liability, insurance coverage, causation, injuries, treatment, damages, and wage-loss claims.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and provide clear case updates.
  • Monitor treatment progress and identify treatment gaps or other case concerns.
  • Review and analyze medical records and bills after they are received by our records team.
  • Prepare attorney-ready case evaluations, summaries, and settlement recommendations.
  • Communicate professionally and strategically with insurance adjusters.
  • Assist with demands, counteroffers, and settlement negotiations under attorney direction.
  • Identify cases that may require litigation and promptly escalated significant risks or deadlines.
  • Maintain complete and accurate case notes, deadlines, and next steps in CasePeer.
  • Ensure every assigned matter is moving forward and no deadlines are missed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • At least three years of directly relevant experience in one or both of the following:
  • Plaintiff-side personal injury case management; or
  • Bodily injury claims adjusting, evaluation, or negotiation for an insurance carrier or third-party administrator.
  • Strong understanding of bodily injury claims, including liability, coverage, causation, treatment, and damages.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Strong judgment, organization, attention to detail, and commitment to client service.
  • Ability to protect confidential information and honor all continuing obligations to prior employers.
Preferred Experience
  • Moderate- or high-exposure bodily injury claims.
  • Demand evaluation and settlement negotiation.
  • UM/UIM claims and policy-limits demands.
  • Disputed liability, treatment gaps, or complex causation issues.
  • CasePeer or comparable case-management software.
What Success Looks Like
  • Clients receive timely, meaningful updates.
  • CasePeer notes, deadlines, and next steps remain current.
  • Treatment-complete matters move efficiently toward demand.
  • Adjuster communications and negotiations are thoroughly documented.
  • Liability, coverage, causation, and valuation concerns are identified early.
  • Cases requiring attorney intervention or litigation are escalated promptly.
  • Health insurance
  • Professional environment focused on excellent client service and strong case results

This role does not independently provide legal advice, accept settlements, or bind the firm or its clients. Settlement activity is conducted under attorney supervision and authorization.
