Job Title: Personal Injury Attorney

Pay: $65 - $80K depending on experience, plus 3–5% of revenue from any cases won.

Experience: 2- 4 years

Location/Hours: Naperville, IL - In office full-time 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday

SUMMARY

Most of the work is Personal Injury (PI) and Workers’ Compensation (WC), but the firm leans more heavily on PI. Seeking an Attorney with PI experience that is interested in learning the WC side. Open to either legal background. This is a small firm at present and is in the process of scaling and eventually opening more locations.

There are no billable hours but there will be biannual benchmarks to meet. The head of the firm has been practicing for 25 years and is hands-on. This is the ideal opportunity for an Attorney that wants to be mentored and likes learning directly from the source. The firm uses Lexis Nexis and smokeball.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Client Representation: Meeting with clients, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the legal process.
  • Case Investigation: Gathering evidence, including accident reports, medical records, and witness statements.
  • Legal Research and Preparation: Conducting research on relevant laws, preparing legal documents like complaints and motions, and preparing for court proceedings.
  • Negotiation: Communicating with insurance companies and opposing attorneys to reach a fair settlement.
  • Litigation: If a settlement cannot be reached, representing clients in court, including hearings, trials, and depositions.
  • Case Management: Organizing and maintaining case files, keeping clients informed about case progress, and managing client expectations.
  • Expert Collaboration: Working with experts like accident reconstruction specialists or medical experts to establish liability and damages.

TYPES OF CASES

  • Car Accidents: Representing clients injured in car accidents, including those caused by drunk drivers, distracted drivers, or negligent drivers.
  • Truck Accidents: Investigating and pursuing cases involving truck accidents, which often involve large-scale injuries and significant damages.
  • Slip and Fall Accidents: Handling cases where individuals are injured due to unsafe conditions on property, such as in stores, sidewalks, or public places
  • Product Liability: Representing clients injured by defective products, including medical devices, consumer goods, and construction equipment.
  • Medical Malpractice: Investigating and litigating cases where injuries are caused by negligence or errors made by medical professionals.
  • Workplace Injuries: Assisting employees who have been injured on the job due to employer negligence.
  • Wrongful Death: Representing families of individuals who have died due to another person's negligence.
