Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions, enabling individuals to remain in their own homes.

• Reports observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Notifies the Agency Director immediately if any incidents or accidents occur.
• Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when business travel is required.
• Provides or assists clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, hair care, denture care, nail care, skin care, and transfers between bed, chair, and wheelchair. Also assists with toileting needs.
• Assists with household tasks directly related to the client's personal care.

Education and Experience

Experience Desired

• Six months experience in home care preferred.
• Successful completion of a competency evaluation.

License Requirements

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification.

State Specific Requirements

• FL: Successful completion of at least forty hours of training as required by the Agency for Health Care Administration or passing the home health aide competency test (Form AHCA 3110-1007).

Skill Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
• Ability to work in any home situation regardless of age, race, creed, sex, disability, or financial condition of the client.
• Able to work independently.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
