Position Summary/Job Duties:

Seeking caregivers to assist with my Husband, Tom's care. Tom is a loving, smart Husband, Father, and Grandfather who suffered a stroke in 10/2020 and has ongoing weakness on his right side and expressive aphasia (he has a hard time coming up with the right words). He has worked very hard to recover to be here for his family. Tom lives at home with myself and our tiny dog, Gabby. He uses a wheelchair but can walk short distances with assistance. He needs help with daily cares, exercise routines, and therapy.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated, kind, reliable, responsible, and willing to be part of a larger caregiving team. A good sense of humor, patience, and a positive attitude are a must. CNA certification or previous personal caregiving experience is a bonus but not required. Tom is 6'3" and requires assistance with transitioning from sitting to standing and positioning, so candidates must be physically strong enough to help as needed.

Evening hours are ideally from 8-9:30 or 10 pm to help Tom with stretching, moving to bed, and preparing items for the following day. We guarantee a minimum of 2 hours per shift. We are currently seeking coverage from Monday to Sunday evenings, with a preference for at least 3 shifts per week. Additional hours may be available for afternoons or longer shifts if interested.

Qualifications:
  • Previous caregiver or CNA experience helpful but not necessary
  • Willingness to learn, laugh, and maintain a good attitude required :)
Physical Demands:

Some lifting required to help with transfers and positioning.
