Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community Based Services Aide provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions, enabling individuals to remain in their own homes.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Report observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Notify immediately if any incidents or accidents occur.
• Drive safely, comply with traffic regulations, and wear a seat belt during business travel.
• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, hair care, dental and mouth care, nail care, skin care, and transfers between bed, chair, wheelchair, bedpan, or toilet.
• Assist with household tasks essential to the client's personal care.

Education and Experience

Experience Desired

• Six months experience in home care preferred.
• Successful completion of a competency evaluation.

License Requirements

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification.

State Specific Requirements

• For FL: Completion of at least forty hours of training or passing the home health aide competency test (Form AHCA 3110-1007).

Skill Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
• Ability to work in diverse home situations regardless of age, race, creed, gender, disability, or financial condition.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
