Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household functions, enabling individuals to remain in their own homes.

• Reports observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or accounts manager. Notifies the Agency Director immediately if any incidents or accidents occur.
• Drives safely, complies with traffic regulations, and wears a seat belt when required for business travel.
• Provides or assists clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, hair care, dental care, nail care, skin care, and transfers between bed, chair, wheelchair, bedpan, and toilet.
• Assists with household tasks essential to the client's personal care.

Education and Experience

Experience Desired

• Six months experience in home care preferred.
• Successful completion of a competency evaluation.

License Requirements

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Current CPR certification.

State Specific Requirements

• FL: Successful completion of at least forty hours of training in areas required by the Agency for Health Care Administration or passing the home health aide competency test (Form AHCA 3110-1007).

Skill Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet client needs.
• Ability to work independently in any home situation, regardless of age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
• Good communication, writing, and organizational skills.
