Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Home and Community-Based Services Aide provides support and assistance with personal hygiene and household tasks to help individuals remain in their own homes.

Specific duties include:

• Reporting observations of the client's condition to the Agency Director or manager and notifying immediately of any incidents or accidents
• Driving safely, complying with traffic laws, and wearing a seat belt during travel
• Assisting clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, hair care, dental care, nail care, skin care, and transfers
• Helping with household tasks essential to the client's personal care

Education and Experience

Preferred Experience:

• Six months of home care experience preferred
• Successful completion of a competency evaluation

License Requirements

• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation
• Current CPR certification

State Specific Requirements

• For FL: Completion of at least forty hours of training or passing the home health aide competency test (Form AHCA 3110-1007)

Skill Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours based on client needs
• Ability to work independently in diverse home situations
• Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills
