Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
  • Assist residents during meals and monitor intake.
  • Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.
  • Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality; provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Assist with recreational and social activities; ensure rooms and common areas are clean and organized.
  • Follow infection prevention and safety procedures and document care per policies.

Personal Caregiver

Location: Harmony Gardens Assisted Living, Ohio
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Shift: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends Available

Position Summary

Harmony Gardens Assisted Living is seeking compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Personal Caregivers to join our team. The Personal Caregiver provides direct assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), promotes resident independence, and helps create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for our residents.

The ideal candidate demonstrates kindness, patience, professionalism, and a commitment to delivering exceptional resident care.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including:

    • Bathing

    • Dressing

    • Grooming

    • Toileting

    • Mobility and transfers

  • Assist residents during meals and monitor food and fluid intake as directed.

  • Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.

  • Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.

  • Provide companionship and emotional support.

  • Assist with recreational and social activities.

  • Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain clean and organized.

  • Follow infection prevention and safety procedures.

  • Document care and services provided according to facility policies.

  • Respond promptly to resident call systems and requests for assistance.

  • Work collaboratively with nurses and medication aides and other team members.

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.

  • Ability to lift, move, and transfer residents safely.

  • Ability to pass background screening and pre‑employment requirements.

Preferred
  • Previous experience in assisted living, long‑term care, memory care, or home health.

  • STNA certification (not required).

  • CPR/First Aid certification.

Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Ability to assist with resident transfers and mobility.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed.
