Job summary

Harmony Place in Minnesota is seeking compassionate Caregivers to provide essential resident care in our senior living communities. You will support daily living activities, assist with meals, and help residents stay engaged and safe throughout each shift.

Qualifications

  • Prior caregiver experience preferred but not required.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete training upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility).
  • Support residents during meals, activities, and routines with comfort and dignity.
  • Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights to ensure safety.
  • Collaborate with nurses and staff to coordinate holistic care and participate in trainings.

What You’ll Do (AKA: Your Superpowers)
Deliver Compassionate Resident Care:
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.

  • Support residents during mealtimes, recreational activities, and daily routines, ensuring comfort and dignity.

  • Respond promptly to resident needs and call lights, ensuring safety and attentiveness at all times.

Support a Safe & Healthy Environment:
  • Assist with transferring and positioning residents, using proper safety techniques.

  • Maintain a clean and organized living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks.

  • Monitor residents’ health and behavior, and report any changes or concerns to nursing or leadership staff.

Promote Engagement & Well-Being:
  • Build positive, supportive relationships with residents and families.

  • Encourage resident participation in social and wellness activities to enhance quality of life.

  • Uphold the mission, values, and care standards of Health Dimensions Group in all interactions.

Collaborate with Team Members:
  • Work alongside nurses, dining, and life enrichment staff to coordinate and deliver holistic care.

  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to stay current on care practices and community updates.

What You Bring to the Table (Besides Your Big Heart)
Experience & Training:
  • Prior experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or personal care assistant preferred, but not required.

  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to complete training upon hire.

Skills & Qualities:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with residents, families, and team members.

  • Ability to provide care with kindness, patience, and respect for residents' dignity and independence.

  • Dependable and flexible with shift availability (including weekends or holidays as needed).

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and move throughout the shift.

  • Able to assist with resident transfers and physical support using proper techniques.
