We're looking for flexible (part time, full time or Flexible schedule) Personal Care Assistants in the Mercer County, PA to be at the heart of our client's care. As a home health aide with The Caring Company, you will provide exceptional care that our clients rely on to stay safe at home.

Duties:

• Provide general attention to Patient's non-medical needs in accordance with a Plan of Care.
• Provide companionship for patients including talking and listening, reading aloud, providing social and emotional support.
• Promote the Patient's mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.
• Provide emotional support and promote a sense of well-being.
• Provide for a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients and family members.
• Provide light housekeeping tasks including laundering of patient's garments and linens.
• Prepare and serve meals as directed and ensure dishes are washed and kitchen is clean after each meal.
• Assist Patient in completing necessary phone calls, letter writing, etc.
• Accompany Patient on walks, community trips, doctor's office, bank, beauty salons, etc.
• Remind patient to take self-administered medications.
• Observe and report any changes in the patient's mental, physical, emotional condition, or home situation to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of ninth education; high school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must demonstrate satisfactory completions of any stated mandated training.
• Applicant must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks: criminal background investigation, professional reference checks, and give permission to submit to random drug testing.
• Must satisfactorily complete the following:
• Complete and pass CCHC's Competency Training Test in the following subject areas:
• Confidentiality
• Patient control and the independent living philosophy.
• Instrumental activities of daily living.
• Recognizing changes in the Patient that need to be addressed.
• Basic infection control.
• Universal precautions.
• Handling of emergencies.
• Documentation.
• Recognizing and reporting abuse or neglect.
• Dealing with difficult behaviors.
