Job summary

Mercy LIFE Valley View, part of Trinity Health PACE, seeks a Personal Care Assistant for 2nd shift to support deaf seniors with essential personal care services and health support in Elwyn, PA. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered with a 2-year commitment, paid in three installments.

Responsibilities include assessments, daily activities assistance, safety monitoring, and transportation support. Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1 year of relevant experience, and willingness to learn

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of experience working with a frail/elderly population or training provided by PACE upon hiring.
• Must be willing to learn American Sign Language (ASL); proficiency preferred.
• Preferred experience in long-term care or geriatric programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance and use of personal vehicle.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to change.
• Some travel within the region may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing participant assessments and monitoring.
• Provide assistance with daily activities, including toileting, grooming, and meals.
• Aid in maintaining physical activity and exercise routines.
• Identify safety hazards and respond to emergencies.
• Assist with recreational activities, meal service, and housekeeping.
• Report any changes in participant’s condition to center staff.
• Escort participants to appointments and assist with transportation.
