Job summary

Interim HealthCare in Rockford, IL is seeking a Part-Time Personal Care Aide to support seniors at home. You’ll provide daily living assistance including bathing, dressing, meals, mobility, and companionship, helping clients live safely and happily in their own homes.

This role offers 1:1 client ratios, flexible scheduling, and opportunities to train online and earn CEUs. A high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification, and a valid Illinois driver’s license with auto insurance are

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) required or preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Six months of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors at home.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, light housekeeping, transportation, companionship).
• Help with mobility, transfers and range-of-motion exercises.
• Provide medication reminders and report concerns to supervisor.

As a Personal Care Aide/Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies

A few must-haves for Personal Care Aides/Caregivers:

• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred
• CPR certification
• Valid IL driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
