Job summary

The Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens in Tennessee seeks a Personal Care Aide to provide in-home support services that enable clients to remain at home. Responsibilities include assisting with bathing, grooming, meals, mobility, and medication reminders under RN supervision.

The role requires a PCA certificate or CNA license in good standing, and prior experience is preferred. You will work closely with clients and their families, maintaining confidentiality and documenting care activities

Qualifications

• Must possess PCA certificate or CNA license in good standing, as approved.
• Experience in providing personal care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with care of teeth and mouth.
• Assists with grooming (hair, shaving, nails).
• Assists with bathing in bed, tub, shower, or sponge bath; supports catheter care as applicable.
• Provides routine skin care; applies lotion on dry skin.
• Assists with dressing and undressing.
• Assists with turning, transferring, and ambulating; may lift 20-40 lbs.
• Assists with eating or feeding.
• Assists with self-administered medications and ensures timely administration (not dosing).
• Provides supervision for clients needing presence of an aide for safety.
• Provides routine wound care that does not require sterile technique.
• Checks vital signs as required; records them.
• Prepares and serves meals; cleans kitchen and dishes.
• Makes beds and changes linens; cleans rooms and bathrooms.
• Lists supplies needed for individual care; washes laundry if needed.
• Maintains confidentiality of client information and program operations.
• Attends at least 12 training hours annually as scheduled.
