Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens is seeking a Medicaid Personal Care Aide to support community-dwelling seniors in Castlewood, Virginia. This position delivers essential in-home care, assisting with activities of daily living while promoting independence and safety.

Responsibilities include dressing, grooming, meal prep, medication reminders, and light housekeeping, with a strong emphasis on compassion, communication, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and fluent in English, able to read/write to follow schedules and care plans.
• Must have a valid Social Security number, driver''s license, and own transportation.
• Must be medically cleared of communicable disease, pass a drug screen, and pass a criminal background check.
• Must possess a 40-Hour Personal Care Aide certificate or be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing.
• Prefer a minimum of 1 year of experience providing personal care assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dressing, bathing, grooming, and hygiene tasks.
• Provide incontinence care and help with mobility and transfers.
• Prepare meals and assist with eating following dietary needs.
• Assist with medications reminders (no dosage actions).
• Perform light housekeeping and environmental maintenance in the home.
