Job summary

Home Recovery Home Aid is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Aide to support patients in their own homes in the Richmond area. You will work under a Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, high-quality care consistent with physician orders and regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes helping with daily activities, companionship, and timely reporting of changes in a patient’s condition, with duties including meal assistance and safe environment maintenance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Experience with elderly individuals in home health or long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility.
• Engage patients in conversation, provide companionship, and social interaction.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and requests for care.
• Observe and report changes in physical, emotional, or mental condition to a licensed nurse.
• Complete required documentation including incident reports and change-of-condition reports.
• Prepare and serve meals and assist with eating.
• Support self-administration of medications as directed.
• Maintain a clean, safe living environment.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a Personal Care Aide, You Will:

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility
• Engage patients in meaningful conversation, companionship, and social interaction
• Respond promptly to patient needs and requests for care

• Prepare and serve meals; assist with eating (excluding tube feeding)
• Support self-administration of medications as directed
• Change bed linens and maintain a clean, safe immediate living environment (bedroom and bathroom)

Qualifications
