Job summary

BMO is seeking a customer advisor in California to deliver exceptional service and provide tailored financial solutions across everyday banking, lending, and small business products. Qualifications

• 2–3 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field desirable or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Appropriate lending qualifications and designations
• Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions
• Working knowledge of retail investments and lending products
• Experience in financial services is an asset
• Confident and experienced in the use of social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications
• Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role with a focus on personal customer experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Collaboration and teamwork abilities
• Analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement with existing customers and prospects through needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities
• Engage customers to assess needs and tailor solutions across banking, lending, investments, and small business products
• Advise on digital and self-serve options to streamline banking and improve the customer experience
• Support customer transactions and help meet banking channel needs
• Build relationships in the community and generate appointments
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory and lending policies in data entry and recommendations
• Apply risk management framework to protect assets and guide lending decisions
• Provide credit recommendations for personal lending and home financing
• Collaborate within branch and market teams to deliver results
• Proactively understand personal banking and credit card needs and integrate marketing programs
• Maintain accurate, complete work information and look for improvements in customer experience
• Take measured risks within policy to align with business strategy and protect assets
• Adapt to multi-branch or channel-based work, with variable schedules
• Follow risk and compliance processes to safeguard customers and privacy
• Stay informed about market trends and regulatory changes
