Training & Development

As a Personal Banker, you will receive extensive training on UMB’s products, services, sales processes, and financial solutions. You will work closely with UMB leaders, gaining mentorship and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ask personalized questions to understand customers’ financial goals and connect them to suitable solutions.
  2. Create and manage a successful loan pipeline, focusing on prospecting and cross-selling various loans and mortgage referrals.
  3. Identify sales opportunities and grow the customer base through networking, customer conversations, and proactive sourcing.
  4. Learn transaction processes, cash management, and bank documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  5. Meet daily performance metrics while providing excellent customer service.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of retail banking sales experience or relevant experience.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to work branch hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Ability to obtain NMLS registration within 90 days.
  • Quick learner of products, services, and procedures.
  • Basic math skills and problem-solving abilities within risk parameters.
  • Ability to establish trust and build relationships through effective communication.
  • Strong business development skills and proactive growth strategies.
  • Ability to thrive in a sales-driven team environment and utilize coaching feedback.
  • Expertise in product knowledge and customer needs assessment.
  • Positive attitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Enjoy mentoring others in sales.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree or military equivalent (preferred).
  • Bilingual abilities.
  • Candidates without 2 years retail banking experience may be considered for a Personal Banker I role.
Compensation

$29,530.00 - $56,950.00, with actual pay varying by location, experience, and other factors. Benefits include paid time off, 401(k), health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and more.
