As a Personal Banker, you will provide best-in-class service by processing routine banking transactions and developing deep customer relationships to understand their needs. You will identify and offer appropriate personal and business financial products and educate customers on alternative and convenient transaction channels. Personal Banker I/II team members will work cross-functionally in a universal banking model to assist clients with various needs.
How You Will Make an Impact
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the transactional needs of the banking center and other lines of business, while identifying opportunities to deepen customer relationships.
- Open and process moderate to complex consumer and small business deposit accounts, providing solutions for managing cash flow.
- Work effectively in a team environment with frequent interactions with teammates and customers.
- Originate simple consumer lending products such as personal loans and credit cards.
- Educate customers on bank channels including online and mobile banking, interactive (Video) tellers, and full-service ATMs for added convenience.
- Meet or exceed individual sales, referrals, and activity objectives, as measured by a sales and referral scorecard.
- Handle cash and adhere to proper balancing procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of products, fees, policies, and current offers to assist customers effectively.
- Explore customers’ financial needs and recommend bank services, referring customers within the branch or to other departments when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable bank regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and Bank Security, staying current on regulation changes.
- Contribute positively to the community through CRA activities and financial literacy initiatives.
Who You Are
- High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.
- Previous banking or sales experience in retail, business, or other industries is preferred.
- At least 1 year of cash handling experience in banking or retail is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of sales and service techniques in a goal-based environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to solve problems and nurture client relationships, even in challenging situations.
- This position does not require S.A.F.E. registration at the time of employment.
