FirstCity Credit Union is seeking a Personal Banker/Branch Service Representative (Floater) to assist members with information on products, open accounts, handle teller transactions, and support loan processes. You will float between two branches in Los Angeles and Pasadena, delivering strong service and cross-selling when appropriate.

The role demands solid communication, customer service, and basic IT skills with Word/Excel, and an eye for details.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of financial institution experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service and sales skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Responds to members' requests for information on products and services and refers to appropriate person when needed.
• Receives members at teller stations and processes deposits, withdrawals, payments and transfers in person, by mail, or by phone.
• Processes Visa cash advances and loan payments and updates member address information.
• Opens accounts (IRAs, trusts, term certificates, shares, share draft).
• Interviews loan applicants, counsels on consumer loan options, prepares documents and loan records, and makes recommendations to Loan Officers.
• Discloses and funds approved loans; if denied, explains the reason for the decision.
• Determines members' financial needs and provides information and products to meet those needs.

The Personal Banker/Branch Service Representative (Floater) will assume, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Responds to members' requests for information on various products and services, answers questions, conducts basic research on members' accounts and/or refers members to appropriate individual for solution.
• Receives members at assigned teller station, determines nature of member's business, and processes accurate transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, payments and transfers, in person, by mail, or telephone.
• Processes Visa cash advances and loan payments, and updates member address information.
• Opens various credit union accounts, including IRAs, trusts, term certificates, shares and share draft accounts.
• Interviews loan applicants, counsel's members regarding consumer loan options, prepares documents and loan records, and makes sound recommendations to Loan Officers.
• Discloses and funds approved loans. In the event a loan is denied, explains reason for loan decision.
• Determines members' financial needs and provides products and service information to them that meets those needs.

The successful candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and skillsets:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Two years of financial institution experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication, customer service and sales skills
• Personal computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Excellent critical thinking skills

Additional Information:

• Full Time, Mon-Sat, must be available and flexible with schedule
• Will float between two branches (Los Angeles and Pasadena)
