Job summary

First Chicago Insurance Company seeks Personal Lines Auto Underwriter and Underwriting Assistant to join its underwriting team in Illinois. You will review applications, assess risk, and ensure policies align with customer-centric values while collaborating with the underwriting team and engaging policyholders with excellent service.

You will maintain documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and participate in training of new staff.

Qualifications

• Auto underwriting experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass licensing exams to become a licensed Property and Casualty Agent.
• Typing/data entry at least 30 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level customer service to agents and policyholders on quotes, endorsements and renewals.
• Develop understanding of coverage, exposures, rating plans and state requirements.
• Enter new business policies, endorsements and renewals.
• Order reports and gather information to support underwriting processes.
• Assist underwriting unit with new business, endorsements and renewals.
• Work on special projects and prepare system output for mailing.
