UDirect Support is seeking a Personal Assistant for a 12-year-old boy with autism in Carlisle. The role entails evening support (4 hours per week) with additional daytime hours during school holidays, initially at the family home with mum present until the child is comfortable being left alone.

The boy enjoys football, gaming (FIFA/Fortnite), and needs a caring, patient helper who can build trust and encourage emotional expression.

Qualifikationen

• Experience looking after children with autism or additional needs.
• Knowledge of football, preferably Carlisle United, to relate to him.
• Willing to start at family home until he is comfortable.
• Duties include personal care, meals, and staying with him during shifts.

• Holiday entitlement: 5.6 weeks or rolled-up holiday pay.

Support required for a 12-year-old boy with Autism. 4 hours available per week (preferably in an evening) with additional daytime hours available in the school holidays (up to 9 per week). Competitive rate of pay.

We are looking for a reliable, friendly, caring person with experience of looking after children with additional needs, preferably autism, to provide support to a 12-year-old boy with autism.

Initially, the support would be provided at the family home with mum there, until he is comfortable to be left with the applicant. He is likely to get anxious or upset with this. He thrives on routine and is a homebird.

He loves anything football related so a good knowledge of this would help the successful applicant to relate to him more. He is a keen Carlisle United supporter and enjoys attending their matches.

He loves gaming especially FIFA games or Fortnite.

Duties will include help with personal care, making his meal and being with him for all of the shift.

He would benefit from support to better understand and express his thoughts, feelings, and emotions. He is looking for someone who can build a trusting relationship with him, encourage open communication, and help him develop the confidence to talk about how he is feeling in a supportive and patient way.

Holiday Entitlement: 5.6 weeks or equivalent/Rolled Up Holiday Pay
