Job Description

The Firm seeks to recruit an Associate to lead finance efforts in expanding the Luxembourg fund platform, ensuring compliance and good governance for all funds managed by BEFM (Blackstone Europe Fund Management), and establishing an efficient operating model for NY finance teams. This role has arisen due to growth in the Luxembourg fund business and increasing complexities in fund administration. The Associate will be a key member of the Perpetual Finance (PF) organization, collaborating with SVP and AVP, working with the Global Fund Finance (GFF) leads, and participating in the Lux Finance Steering committee (Steerco), with an indirect reporting line to MD, Luxembourg Finance.

Responsibilities
  1. Onboard new funds.
  2. Review carried interest and management fee models at fund launch; prepare walkthrough memos.
  3. Assist with process reviews related to Capital Account Statements and document analyses for BEFM review.
  4. Support Fund Admin RFI processes if needed.
  5. Conduct due diligence and ongoing monitoring of fund administrators, including on-site visits and reporting.
  6. Coordinate due diligence on BASP (GFF/PF) and organize on-site visits with BEFM.
  7. Prepare KPI reports for each delegate involved in BEFM Funds using GFF/PF’s issue log.
  8. Ensure LP questions regarding Luxembourg fund admin operating models are answered consistently, complying with Luxembourg regulations.
  9. Manage tax compliance and regulatory reporting, including VAT, FATCA, CRS, and AIFMD reporting.
  10. Coordinate VAT and tax return processes with GFF/PF teams and Luxembourg tax/VAT advisors.
  11. Oversee LPA audits and related US regulatory reporting from a US perspective.
  12. Report regularly to BEFM on activities.
  13. Participate in BEFM roadshows and training sessions for US teams.
  14. Maintain relationships with BXTI and GFF/PF leads to leverage automation initiatives.
Qualifications
  1. 4+ years in financial services, including experience in Big 4 as a consultant or auditor, with a solid understanding of alternative industry operations.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  3. Interest in Luxembourg laws, VAT, and tax regulations.
  4. Knowledge of US GAAP and fund accounting is a plus.
  5. Experience with due diligence or fund administration, preferably at a depositary bank.
  6. Strong relationship-building and leadership skills.
  7. Excellent project management and communication skills.
  8. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in proposing solutions.
  9. Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to produce detailed reports.
  10. Interest in technology and process improvements.
