Job summary

City of Woodburn seeks a Permit Technician to issue building and planning permits, monitor permit processes, and provide information and customer service to residents and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have a High School diploma or GED and at least three years in administrative support with customer service, preferably in planning/building/engineering. Bilingual English/Spanish and Oregon E-Permitting experience are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and three years of progressive admin support and customer service experience, preferably in planning/building/engineering.
• Be prepared to pass pre-employment background check.
• Bilingual English/Spanish and Oregon E-Permitting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Issue building and planning permits.
• Monitor permit processes and provide information to the public.
• Review applications for accuracy and completeness; calculate permit fees and invoicing.
• Guide residents and contractors with building and land use applications; schedule plan reviews and inspections.
• Search archival information and take minutes during Planning Commission meetings.
