Charleston County Government seeks a seasoned administrator to lead the Permit Center, ensuring efficient processing from zoning and land development through occupancy and construction completion. You will supervise staff, manage reviews, and provide guidance aligning with county ordinances and regulations.

The role requires a BA/BS in a relevant field with at least eight years of related experience, plus a SC driver’s license.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Construction Management, Planning, Project Management, Building and Applied Arts or related field; and eight or more years of related experience.
• Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Excel, Access and Word; experience with Energov/EPL preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Leads and manages the Permit Center, overseeing permitting & approvals across zoning, land development, building construction and business licensing through occupancy and completion.
• Provides application submittal guidance based on county ordinances including ZLDR, Building Code, Flood, Stormwater regulations.
• Oversees daily Permit Center operations, routing/reviewing applications, staff collaboration, conflict resolution, and responses to officials and the public.
