Job summary

Chesterfield County, Virginia seeks a Customer Operations Administrator to lead administrative services and permit processing within the Building Inspection Department. You will manage a team of two Customer Service Supervisors and one Administrative Supervisor, set expectations, and drive continuous improvement in customer service and efficiency.

Primary duties include directing customer service operations, overseeing permit processing and payments, and coordinating with the Treasurer’s Office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business management or related field; seven years of progressively responsible experience in customer service or field operations, including three years supervisory.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate customer service operations.
• Oversee permit processing and payment functions.
• Serve as liaison between Community Development departments and Treasurer’s Office for daily financial balancing and reconciliation.
• Evaluate workflows, identify challenges, implement process improvements, and establish performance standards.
• Provide leadership and administrative support to inspectors, plan reviewers, contractors, and developers; ensure record integrity across systems.
