PERMIT SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT: INSPECTIONS

Duties include issuing building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits; reviewing plans for fences, signs, etc.; conferring with other departments in regard to plan review, permit issuance and utilities services; conducting research; maintaining related databases, records and files; and handling requests for information and complaints pertaining to permits, code / zoning and certificates of occupancy. Duties also include answering the phone and assisting with other general clerical tasks. A high school diploma or equivalent and two years of customer service experience are required; building methods blueprint reading experience beneficial. Bilingual (English / Spanish) skills beneficial. PAY GRADE GG12 / FULL PAY RANGE $19.80 - $27.92 PER HOUR ($41,184 - $58,080 ANNUALLY)
