Job Description

Description: EllingtonPublic Schools is currently accepting applications for a Permanent Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will cover grades K-6 at Crystal Lake School.

Job Summary: The Permanent Substitute Teacher will serve as the primary substitute for the district when classroom teachers are out. The assignment will vary from day-to-day and will not include long-term assignments.

Qualifications: All candidates must hold a bachelors degree. In addition, a state and national criminal check will be required, as well as a state DCF search.

Working Conditions: This is a one year only position (the remainder of the 24/25 school year). The permanent substitute is expected to report to work every day school is in session and will be guaranteed a teaching assignment each day that school is in session. The permanent substitute teacher will be paid at the rate of $17.14/Hour for non-certified candidates and $18.57/ Hour for certified candidates. There are no additional benefits. Assignments will be made through the district's Substitute Coordinator.
