Henrico County Public Schools seeks substitute teachers to provide instruction at the assigned schools. You will implement teacher plans when available and adapt lesson delivery to diverse learners, maintaining a positive classroom climate.
Assignments vary daily from short to long term. You will assess student learning, use district curriculum, integrate technology, communicate with parents and staff, and uphold safety standards while supporting student achievement.

The employee in this classification provides instruction to students in the assigned school.
Assumes responsibility for all aspects of classroom instruction, assessments and behavior management on a short term or long term basis. Implements teacher created lesson plans or works collaboratively with a team of educators to generate lesson plans, providing differentiated strategies to instruct students at all levels in all content areas.
The daily assignment within that school will vary depending upon the need for substitutes.

Must have a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit or 2 years experience working with children.
Must complete Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition and Intervention training Recognition and Intervention training.

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 to 50 pounds occasionally, and may assist, move, or restrain students when required to intervene in student safety issues. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, lift, walk, stand, and hear.
