  • Job Summary: Substitute Teaching Needed in All Teaching Areas for the 2025-2026 school year. The permanent building substitute will provide consistent daily teaching support and will be hired for the full school year. This is a one‑year, permanent position.
Qualifications
  • Current Ohio Department of Education license.
  • Ability to pass FBI/BCI background check.
  • Experience working with students and/or children.
  • Preferred: ODE Resident Educator or Professional license in a grade level band or subject area.
Essential Functions
  1. Maintains in‑depth knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy. Implements the absent teacher’s lesson plans and best practices that support continuous improvement in student participation and achievement.

    • Seeks guidance and confirms responsibilities when directives are unclear.
    • Notifies the assigned supervisor when leaving the job site during scheduled hours.
    • Develops lesson plans consistent with state learning standards and district curriculum goals.
    • Aligns teaching strategies with students’ learning styles and implements evidence‑based instructional strategies that produce quantifiable benefits within well‑defined time frames.
    • Uses formative and summative assessments to track student progress and provides timely feedback.
    • Participates in team meetings when requested, helps plan services relevant to needs, and supports student access to inclusive educational opportunities.
    • Uses positive behavioral interventions and supports to maintain discipline and helps students acquire appropriate functional skills.
    • Tracks data required by the school district, prepares accurate, timely records, monitors reporting deadlines, and complies with district records retention and disposal policies.
    • Proctors mandated testing activities as directed and upholds test security procedures.
    • Informs the absent teacher of work completed and problems encountered.
  2. Diligently attends to job details, pursues quality results, and performs all aspects of the job.

    • Develops mutually respectful relationships with co‑workers and functions as part of a cohesive team.
    • Maintains a professional appearance and wears work attire appropriate for the position.
    • Respects privacy; ensures the veracity and security of confidential information.
    • Sustains an acceptable attendance record and consistently complies with established work schedules.
  3. Maintains open, effective communications and serves as a reliable information resource.

    • Fosters goodwill and encourages relationships that enhance public support for the district.
    • Refers administrative procedure and district policy questions to an appropriate administrator.
