Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans based on each patient's needs and goals.
  • Assist patients in improving independence with activities of daily living and functional tasks.
  • Provide therapeutic activities focused on strength, coordination, balance, mobility, and functional performance.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate observations with the supervising OT and interdisciplinary team.
  • Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and safety.
  • Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Participate in patient-centered care planning and treatment goal development.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful treatment environment.
  • Follow facility policies, clinical standards, and applicable regulations.

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our team in Scarborough, Maine. This permanent, full-time opportunity offers a consistent Monday–Friday schedule with a weekend rotation and the chance to provide meaningful care in a close-knit skilled nursing environment.

This 60-bed skilled nursing facility provides post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care. You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and help individuals regain independence, maintain their functional abilities, and achieve their therapy goals.
