Xebia is seeking a skilled Perl developer to join a globally distributed team. You will build and maintain medium to large-scale Perl applications, design robust solutions using MVC patterns, and create APIs with JSON/XML.

Strong OOP knowledge and experience with Git, ORM, and CI/CD are essential. Applicants must have English proficiency (B2+), work from EU region with a valid permit, and be comfortable collaborating across international teams leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance productivity

Qualifications

• Experience in software development across the full SDLC.
• Hands-on experience developing medium to large-scale Perl applications.
• Knowledge of web-based MVC frameworks such as Mojolicious, Dancer, or Catalyst.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), MVC, and design patterns.
• Experience working with JSON/XML APIs and relational databases.
• Familiarity with ORM tools and database integration.
• Experience with Git and version control workflows.
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing practices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI or Jenkins.
• Practical experience using AI-powered assistants to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery.
• Focus on writing well-designed, testable, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Good command of English (min. B2).
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

You will be:

• knowledge of web-based MVC frameworks such as Mojolicious, Dancer, or Catalyst,
• strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP), MVC, and design patterns,
• experience working with JSON/XML APIs and relational databases,
• familiarity with ORM tools and database integration,
• experience with Git and version control workflows,
• knowledge of unit and integration testing practices,
• familiarity with CI/CD tools such as CircleCI or Jenkins,
• practical experience using AI-powered assistants (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to improve productivity, quality, or decision-making in software delivery,
• focus on writing well-designed, testable, efficient, and maintainable code,
• good command of English (min. B2).
• Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.

Nice to have:

• Experience applying GenAI in a more structured way within the SDLC, including defined workflows, prompt patterns, or tool integrations embedded into daily work.

• Interest in and familiarity with emerging AI-driven practices (e.g. agent-based workflows, automation patterns, AI-augmented development), with a willingness to explore and experiment beyond standard approaches.
