Job summary

Qualifications

• 5+ years of grocery retail management experience.
• Experience as department/assistant manager or store leadership.
• Strong knowledge of perishable department operations (produce, meat, seafood, deli, bakery).
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of California labor laws preferred.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive store performance by supporting sales, profit, and expense targets.
• Lead store operations with adherence to company standards; ensure perishable departments meet quality and shrink control standards.
• Model and promote outstanding customer service; ensure fresh, high-quality products are always available.
• Supervise and develop department managers and store associates; support hiring and training.
• Assist with scheduling and labor planning to meet operational needs and budgets; ensure compliance with labor laws and health regulations.
• Act as Store Director in their absence and lead store initiatives, seasonal programs, and community engagement.
