Mannix Family Markets seeks an experienced Perishable Operations Specialist to support and develop the Produce/Floral, Bakery, and Deli/Foodservice departments across four Staten Island locations. The role focuses on fresh merchandising, retail operations, and strong leadership to boost sales and profitability.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can elevate product quality, freshness and department performance while developing dedicated teams across stores.

• Significant experience in supermarket or grocery retail operations with emphasis on produce and fresh merchandising.
• Previous experience as Perishable Department Manager, District Perishable Manager, Regional Perishable Manager or equivalent leadership.

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Perishable Operations Specialist to support, develop and drive the performance of our perishable departments including Produce/Floral, Bakery, Deli/Foodservice Departments across four supermarket locations throughout Staten Island, New York.

This is a high-impact field leadership position for an accomplished grocery professional with a strong background in fresh merchandising, retail operations, financial performance and team development.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands what it takes to operate successful perishable departments, consistently deliver exceptional product quality and freshness, maximize sales and profitability, and develop strong department-level teams.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations & Field Leadership

• Oversee and evaluate perishable department operations across multiple store locations.
• Conduct regular store visits to assess merchandising, product quality, freshness, conditions and operational execution.
• Partner with store management and department leadership to establish and maintain consistent operating standards.
• Identify operational opportunities and implement action plans to improve department performance.
• Coach, mentor and develop produce and floral department managers.

Sales, Merchandising & Profitability

• Drive sales growth, gross profit improvement and overall department profitability.
• Develop and execute impactful merchandising strategies, seasonal programs and promotional initiatives.
• Maximize product presentation, assortment, pricing and space utilization.
• Monitor sales trends, margins, inventory levels and shrink performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing practices, product movement and inventory management.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and support effective procurement and product sourcing.

Fresh & Floral Standards

• Ensure exceptional standards for product quality, freshness, rotation and presentation.
• Develop creative seasonal and holiday merchandising programs.
• Drive floral sales through compelling displays, assortment planning and promotional execution.
• Ensure departments consistently meet company expectations for cleanliness, organization and customer service.

Leadership & Accountability

• Establish performance expectations and hold department teams accountable for results.
• Work collaboratively with store operations, merchandising and senior leadership.
• Analyze department performance reports and translate findings into actionable improvements.
• Share best practices and successful merchandising strategies across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

• Significant experience in supermarket or grocery retail operations, with a strong emphasis on produce and fresh merchandising.
• Previous experience as a Perishable Department Manager, District Perishable Manager, Regional Perishable Manager, Perishable Operations Manager or comparable leadership position.
• Proven ability to influence and improve performance across multiple store locations.
• Strong understanding of produce merchandising, procurement, inventory management, gross profit and shrink control.
• Experience coaching, developing and motivating department managers.
• Knowledge of floral merchandising, seasonal programs and fresh retail trends.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel regularly across four Staten Island, New York locations.
