Job summary

Wegmans invites motivated individuals to join an entry-level, structured training program designed to be completed within six months. You will be mentored by trained leaders and have the opportunity to interview or place into a team leader role upon successful completion.

In this program you focus on merchandising standards, educate customers and teammates about products, and actively assist shoppers with locating items and meal planning.

• Customer service experience, preferably in a food service, grocery, or retail setting.

This is an entry-level structured training program designed to be completed within 6 months with support from a mentor and trainer. Successful program completion will result in an interview or placement as a team leader.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures and wet conditions.
