Job summary

Food Lion in Sanford, NC is hiring a Perishable Department Associate to deliver friendly, efficient customer service and support daily operations. You will greet customers, assist with product questions, and help maintain a neat, safe department.

You will manage stocking, rotate stock by freshness, process deliveries, label items, and ensure accurate signage. You will follow Food Safety guidelines, complete CBT and training, and support team members to meet store goals.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and stock items.
• Ensure proper ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise.
• Maintain product levels in the Perishable Department including meat, lunchmeat, dairy, and frozen items.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat cases as needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department and maintain layout standards.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and report accidents.
