Job summary

Food Lion is hiring for a Perishable Department position in Pelzer, SC. You will provide quality customer service, maintain standards, and support store operations in the Perishable area.

Responsibilities include receiving deliveries, stocking, FIFO rotation, following safety guidelines, and completing required CBT and training courses. You will help ensure accurate pricing, proper display, and a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store in proper area.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise follows policies and guidelines.
• Maintain proper product levels in Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream).
• Process beef and grinds as directed from the planned production tool and as requested.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested.
• Assemble, disassemble and clean the grinder as needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department.
• Maintain layout standards and respond to promotions materials.
• Follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and report accidents.
• Comply with local, state and federal regulations.
• Wear Food Lion uniform with name badge on duty.
• Complete Computer Based Training, Training Packet and Training Aid courses.
